Jonathan = The Lord Has Given / Matthias = Gift of the Lord
And truly, after a 9-month stretch, God has given us a beautiful gift and his name is Jonathan Matthias. He came punctual on the projected due date but was also an answer to many of those who had us in prayer. These prayers had unwrapped the cord around Jonathan’s neck and assisted him to come out safely and healthily. These prayers also gave Michelle strength and determination to push forth to see his face! These prayers gave the wisdom and expertise to the nurses and doctors who strategically helped Michelle through the natural delivery and bring Jonathan to our arms. Prayers do get answered!
In preparation for Jonathan’s arrival, we wanted to ensure that he was going to get the same treatment as his big brother, Nathaniel. So, we did another little maternity photoshoot and this time, Nathaniel enjoyed being a part of it! Michelle enjoyed all the clothes from Thyme Maternity (especially her support from the Markville Mall location). Thereafter, Jonathan had his own special photoshoot at four days old and was an awesome sleepy model. As you can see, Nathaniel is such a loving big brother who loves to graze his cheek over his younger sibling and tell him how much he loves him. At the hospital when the brothers first met, he wanted to feed Jonathan a French fry and questioned why he didn’t wave back or say “Hello!”…haha! We are so thankful that they both get along (famous last words!).
Life with two children is certainly a blessing. Yes, we’re still learning how to manage the attention of both kids, from one who wants to play puzzles to the other who needs a diaper changed. We are definitely looking forward to the journey that lies ahead!
